What our clients say first

"Before working with Connect Biz, I spent most of my energy reacting to problems. Now I spend it building something that lasts. The shift happened faster than I expected."

— Fiona Darrow, founder of a 14-person logistics firm in Glasgow, after nine months of coaching

Business coaching built around honest assessment and practical change

Most coaching programmes begin with inspiration and end with a binder of notes. Ours begins with a diagnostic conversation — a candid look at where your business actually stands, not where you wish it stood. From that foundation, we build a working plan that survives contact with Monday morning.

We work with owner-operators, founding teams, and senior managers who have outgrown their current way of working but have not yet found the structure, accountability, or strategic clarity to reach the next stage. Our engagements are not motivational seminars. They are structured, evidence-informed coaching relationships designed to produce measurable shifts in how you lead, decide, and grow.

Every engagement starts with what we call the Dossier — a detailed editorial assessment of your business across five dimensions: leadership capacity, operational resilience, financial architecture, market positioning, and team dynamics. This is not a questionnaire score. It is a written analysis, produced collaboratively, that becomes the reference document for everything we do together.

"Good coaching does not give you answers. It gives you better questions — and the discipline to sit with them until clarity arrives."

Your journey with us

Phase one — weeks 1 to 3

The diagnostic conversation

We meet for two extended sessions. The first is exploratory — you talk, we listen and ask. The second is structured — we walk through the five dimensions together, identifying where energy is being lost and where opportunity is being left on the table. By the end, you receive your written Dossier.

Phase two — months 2 to 6

Active coaching engagement

Fortnightly sessions of seventy-five minutes each, focused on one or two dimensions at a time. Between sessions, you work on specific assignments — not busywork, but real operational changes. We review outcomes honestly and adjust the plan as reality shifts beneath you.

Phase three — ongoing

Sustained accountability

After the active phase, many clients continue with monthly or quarterly check-ins. These are shorter, sharper conversations designed to maintain momentum, catch drift early, and keep strategic priorities visible. Some clients stay in this rhythm for years.

Our method, in plain language

We do not follow a proprietary twelve-step system with a trademarked name. Our method is simpler and harder: we pay close attention to what is actually happening in your business, we help you see the patterns you are too close to notice, and we hold you accountable to the changes you say you want to make.

Our coaching draws on established frameworks from organisational psychology, behavioural economics, and strategic management — but we never lead with jargon. If a concept cannot be explained in a sentence, it is not ready to be applied. We believe in clarity over cleverness.

Every client relationship is different. A solo founder scaling from five to twenty employees faces different pressures than a leadership team trying to align after a merger. A family business navigating succession needs a different kind of conversation than a tech startup preparing for its first board. We adapt our approach to your reality, not the other way around.

We also believe that coaching should have an end point — or at least a conscious choice to continue. We are not in the business of creating dependency. The goal is always to make you a better decision-maker, not to make you reliant on us for decisions.

A note from a recent engagement

"The thing I valued most was the honesty. My coach told me things my team would never say and my spouse was tired of saying. It was uncomfortable and exactly what I needed."

— R. Lennox, manufacturing sector, Dundee

Working principles

Confidentiality is absolute. We never share details of one client's situation with another. Sessions are not recorded. Notes remain between coach and client.

We do not take equity, referral fees, or commissions from any recommendation we make. Our only revenue is the coaching fee.

Is this a fit? A readiness check

You are ready if…

You have a functioning business that generates revenue but feel stuck at a plateau. You are willing to examine your own habits and assumptions, not just your team's. You can commit to fortnightly sessions for at least four months.

This may not be the right time if…

You are looking for someone to write your business plan or manage your marketing. You want a motivational speaker rather than a thinking partner. You are in acute financial crisis and need emergency advisory, not coaching.

What it costs

Diagnostic phase: a fixed fee agreed before we begin, typically between £1,200 and £1,800. Active coaching: a monthly retainer based on session frequency and scope. We discuss pricing openly in our first call — no hidden charges, no upsells.

Who coaches you

All coaching is delivered by senior practitioners with a minimum of eight years of leadership experience in commercial environments. We do not use junior associates or outsource sessions. You work with the person you meet in your first conversation.
